We are thrilled to announce that Seer Interactive has been selected as one of the 2020 Best Workplaces in Philadelphia and San Diego. While this isn't the first time we've received this recognition, it's still humbling, as winners are selected based exclusively on employee feedback. The full list of winners will be published in The Philadelphia Inquirer and San Diego Union-Tribune in April 2020, so stay tuned. In the meantime, we'll pull back the curtain on the Best Workplaces selection process and what it means for Seer to be recognized as an Outstanding Employer for another year in a row. What does it mean to be a winner?A bit of history… The Top Workplaces program was created in 2006 and almost 14 years later they have surveyed over 20 million employees in 57,000 organisations. Needless to say, insights backed by data spanning more than a decade are music to our ears at Seer.Within each region, the winning companies are broken down by size bracket, which corresponds to the number of employees within that particular location. (Small, Medium, Large) Philadelphia recognized 125 best places to work in the region, while San Diego selected 85 SoCal winners. What was the competition like?Any organization (public, private, non-profit or government) with more than 50 employees in this local market is eligible to participate. In order to be considered, employers can be nominated or simply register for the competition.2019 Employee Survey and Results What is the process for determining the best places to work in each market?
Each year, the best places to work are selected based on employee feedback from Enerage's anonymous engagement survey. The survey includes 24 conditional questions that have been deliberately selected based on neuroscientific and comparative data. There are strict guidelines surrounding the distribution of the survey, to avoid employees being coerced into responding positively (there is even a question in the survey that also addresses this) Top Workplaces intentionally uses a third-party survey to determine winners, to create an objective evaluation method for a wide variety of different employers.Survey responses are anonymized to protect employee identities and ensure the validity of comments. (People will always be more open and unfiltered in their responses, if they know it can't be traced back to them) In fact, Energage only displays aggregated survey results from a minimum of 5 employees, to ensure confidentiality between small teams and sub-groups.Each organization must have, at least, a 35% response rate to the survey, to ensure it accurately reflects the sentiments of the team (For reference, Seer had an 89% response rate) The anonymous employee survey rates each organization across 15 workplace culture factors in 4 main categories.BestPlaces1BestPlaces2DOWNLOAD THE Cinematographic received the award – now what?To have Seer named Best Workplace of 2020 is a huge honor BUT that doesn't mean we can start popping the champagne when we receive that coveted yellow ribbon. In fact, our work has just begun. In addition to asking our team to complete the anonymous annual survey through Energage, Seer always purchases the premium information pack, to better understand how we are doing as an organization. This comprehensive report takes an in-depth look at survey feedback and provides actionable recommendations to help improve organizational health and corporate culture. (which leads to better employee retention and engagement) Energage leverages benchmarking to uncover unique insights across the agency, while considering a variety of factors. (location, department, demographics, seniority, length of time with the company, etc.) Additionally, we are able to compare annual results to assess where we have improved and decreased across the agency .
